Why this post exists ?
Quark Studios has always been about making games and apps we genuinely want to use ourselves. We realized our website should reflect that same mindset: simple where it should be simple, expressive where it should feel alive, and fast enough that it never gets in the way. This post marks the beginning of sharing our process in public, not just the final polished launches.
What changed ?
The new site focuses on three things: clarity, speed, and personality. We improved navigation so moving between sections feels natural, tightened interactions so everything feels intentional, and polished visual transitions so the UI feels smooth rather than flashy for no reason. We also worked on performance details behind the scenes, including reducing heavy assets and improving font loading behavior.
The result is a site that still feels like Quark, but loads and responds with much less friction. We want people to spend their time exploring projects, not waiting on the interface.
Why we are starting a blog now ?
As an indie team, the most valuable thing we can share is the path, not only the outcome. Shipping is rarely linear. Some ideas look great and fail in testing. Some “small” fixes take days. Some unexpected bugs force design decisions we never planned. This blog is where we document those moments honestly.
You can expect practical devlogs, feature breakdowns, product decisions, launch notes, and occasional postmortems. If something works well, we will share why. If something fails, we will share what we learned and what we changed.
What is coming next ?
We are currently focused on improving discoverability across projects, tightening mobile UX, and adding deeper content around each release. You will also see more build notes around performance and design systems, because those are areas we care about deeply.
Our goal is simple: keep shipping things that feel useful, reliable, and fun.
Thanks for reading!!
If you are here early, thank you. Building in public works best when people follow along, ask questions, and challenge assumptions. We are excited to keep sharing.
