This Privacy Policy explains how Quark Studios handles information in Nook: Lock Screen ToDo & Notes. It applies to the Android app. The Quark Studios website has its own website privacy policy.

Information Stored on Your Device

Nook uses information you enter and settings you choose to provide its notes and task features:

• Notes, reminders, and checklist text
• Task completion states and the cards you choose to display
• Card colors, themes, appearance, and screen positions
• App settings and preferences

This app data is stored locally on your device. Nook does not upload your notes, checklists, or settings to Quark Studios servers. We do not collect or share personal data through the app.

No Account Required

You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or connect a social media account to use Nook's notes and task features.

Permissions and Visible Notes

Nook uses Android's screen, wallpaper, and notification features to display the cards you choose. Where your Android version requires permission to show notifications, you can grant or deny that permission and change it later in your device settings. Denying a permission may limit the associated display feature.

Content you choose to show on your home screen, lock screen, or in notifications may be visible to people who can see your device. Your Android notification privacy settings can affect what appears while the device is locked. Avoid displaying passwords or other sensitive information in these cards.

Nook's notes and task features do not require barcode scanning or camera access.

Data Storage and Device Backups

Your notes, checklists, and preferences remain in local app storage unless you choose to share them or your device's system services create a backup. Android or device-manufacturer backup and restore services may handle app data according to your device settings and those providers' policies. Quark Studios does not operate those services.

You control the information you enter, the cards you display, and the app permissions you allow.

Third-Party and System Services

Nook relies on Android system features to store app data and display notes and notifications. Google Play distributes the app and its updates. Google Play, Android, and any device backup services are governed by their providers' policies, including Google's Privacy Policy.

This policy's statements about local note storage concern Nook itself, rather than data handled independently by your app store or device services.

Data Security

Local app storage is subject to your device's operating-system protections. Keep your device and Nook updated, use an appropriate screen lock, and review your lock-screen notification settings. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices and Data Retention

You can access, edit, and delete notes and tasks within Nook and change the appearance of your cards and your app preferences. App data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app's stored data.

To remove local app data, use Android Settings to clear Nook's storage or uninstall the app. You can also revoke app permissions through your device settings. Clearing app storage can permanently remove your notes and preferences, so keep anything you need before doing so. Copies in system backups are managed separately through the relevant backup settings and provider.

Because Quark Studios does not receive a copy of your locally stored notes or tasks, we cannot retrieve or remotely delete that content for you.

Children’s Privacy

Nook does not require personal information to use its notes and task features, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you have a concern about a child's privacy, contact us using the privacy email below.

Support Communications

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use that information to respond to your request and retain it as needed to handle the enquiry and meet applicable obligations. Do not send sensitive note content unless it is necessary for your request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Nook changes. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date. If our data practices change, we will update the relevant disclosures.
